Lately we have met some customers asking us about our work process such as “How do you work” or”How do I order” etc?

Well today I would take this chance to share our work process step by step. Meantime I will also share what we can do to support your business better. Hope it helps you know better about us and feel more confident to work with us in long term! 🙂

We are Desire Dress.

We have our own factory located in Chaozhou city.

Our showroom & office is in Guangzhou, and you are welcome to visit us anytime.

What is our work process?

1,You send us your designs / photos / sketch / sample

You can send us photos from online social media such as Instagram, Pinterest etc or sketch / drawing or even a sample dress to copy

Kindly notes: If only photos, we prefer to have clear images from front + back + details if possible so we can follow the details better.

2,We confirm your detail requirements

Before we move forward, we will confirm with you for the style details (slit / sleeves / train / neckline) till we are clear about everything. It is better to confirm more in the beginning to avoid any problems later

3,We source fabric/material and send you to confirm

We will source fabric and send you photos/videos to confirm which one you prefer to use.

For our regular customers, sometimes we will also send some fabric swatches together with goods, so they can choose fabric and color more easier next time.

4,We calculate price based on quantity

Because price depends on style complexity,fabric cost, handmade work level and the order quantity as well. So once we know your quantity, we can calculate better and offer you a proper price.

5,We will make Proforma Invoice (PI) for your confirmation

After we confirm the price and agreed by you, we will proceed to finalize colors,sizes etc together and make you sample/order invoice which will state the sizes,colors and production details,payment information etc

6,Once you arrange the payment, then we will start to arrange production

Once payment received, we will proceed with the order and arrange them into our production.

7, After dresses finished — photos/videos + QC checking

After the dress finish making,we will show you our works by photos and videos.Meantime we will have our QC workmate who will check the quality before packing the goods.

8: Packing + confirm shipping cost + arrange shipment

After packing, we will check shipping cost and update final invoice to pay balance payment so we can arrange shipment and send you tracking number accordingly.

Some questions you may concern before you send payment

Q1: If I purchase your dresses, what is your wholesale price range?

It depends on style, quantity, fabric, beading level… so it’s hard to give one fixed answer.

But generally saying,classic non-beaded dress (plain fabric) would be around 50–100 USD. Handmade beading styles usually costs around 140–180 USD

If you send us the style photos you like, we can check price for you, so you can have a clear idea first.

Q2: How many days you need for production?

It depends on styles:

For classic/simple styles, normally around 3–4 weeks

For lace applique or heavy beading styles, normally 6–8 weeks

Because handmade beading really needs time and many processes, but we will always do our best to finish as early as possible.

Q3: Can you help with labeling? Can you put my brand on dresses?

Yes, we can.

If you already have labels, you can send to us.
If you need us to make labels, we can also help you source locally (usually label supplier has MOQ). You can tell us your needs and we will check cost for you.

Q4: What is your payment terms and methods?

Payment methods:
We can accept PayPal / Western Union / Bank Transfer (TT) whatever is convenient for you

Payment terms depends on order type:

Sample: normally full payment before making sample
(If later you order bulk quantity, we will deduct extra sample fee from your bulk order amount — we already do this for many customers.)

Bulk order: normally 30% deposit before production + balance before shipment
(We will confirm clearly in the invoice.)

Q5: What is your shipping method?

Normally we ship by fast express like DHL or FedEx.

Most of the time we ship by DHL because it is stable and faster.
Delivery time normally 3–5 working days.

If you need dresses urgently, DHL is the best choice.

What can we do to support your business better?

Now this is the most important part. Because we know you don’t just need “a supplier”, you need a partner who can help you run business smoother.

Here are the supports we can do:

1) Help you choose styles that suit your market (not only “beautiful”, but “sellable”)

Many store owners buy dresses that look nice, but after they arrive… customers don’t like, or sizes don’t match, or style doesn’t fit local taste.

If you tell us your country,your customer type (prom / evening / modest / plus size / rental),your price range,we can recommend styles that are more likely to sell in your market. This can save you lots of money and reduce slow-selling stock.

2) Help you make a “trial order plan” to reduce risk

If you are new customer, I always suggest to start with mixed styles to test (small risk) and then repeat top-selling styles (grow stable). After that you can consider private label / custom designs (higher profit). This is the safest way for new cooperation.

3) Provide photos/videos and details to help you sell faster if needed

We can support you with:

  • clear real dress photos
  • detail videos (beading, lace, fabric)
  • Production process photo and videos
  • packing photos
  • sometimes worn photos if we have / or can arrange

Because we know for online business, content is very important. Good photos help you sell faster.

4) Strong QC to protect your store reputation

Quality issue is the biggest headache in dress business.So we always do QC checking before shipping.And for customers who purchase bulk quantity (for example 30pcs above), our sales person who follow up your order will also need to do quality checking to avoid any quality issue happen on the order.

5) Help with branding details (labels / tags / simple packaging)

If you want your store looks more professional, we can help put your brand label and hang tags on the dress, offer you simple packaging support if needed

6) We can act as your China-side helper (save your time)

If you need to source something in China (not only dresses), we can help as your China agent, including sourcing and shipping coordination.We only charge 3% service fee based on order value, but it can save you lots of time, especially when you don’t have a China team.

Some small tips to help you run your dress business smoother

From our experience, a store runs better when you do these:

  • Don’t buy too many styles at the beginning. Test first, then repeat.
  • Choose a supplier who is responsible and can support your business, not only give low price as low price can be a trick and you may pay for what you get
  • Keep your customer feedback photos — it becomes free marketing materials.
  • If you plan to open more shops, build stable supplier relationship early (it saves you so much headache later).

Business is a long term run. The best cooperation is always win-win.
